Michael Rahnama, known as Mike, founded Sepher after more than a decade in B2B sales, account management and business development, most recently managing a $10 million national client portfolio for a digital marketing business. He leads Sepher’s client relationships, new business and commercial direction.
Figures from Mike’s previous roles, before founding Sepher. Employers are not named for confidentiality, and these are not Sepher client results.
Commercially focused. Customer-driven. In it for the long term.
Michael Rahnama is the Founder and Director of Sepher. His career has been spent on the commercial side of business: winning new clients, looking after them and growing those relationships over years rather than months.
Most recently, as a National Account Manager in digital marketing, he managed a national portfolio of 100 to 200 client accounts valued at $10 million, led a cross-functional team of 10 to 15 across business development, operations, accounts and support, and handled around 200 contract renewals a year.
Before that, he led B2B software sales for an early-stage technology business, reporting directly to the CEO, and managed sales and operations across multiple Sydney locations for a global mobility organisation. There he took the largest branch in the network from last nationally to first, through sales training, structured scripts and better team allocation.
At Sepher, Mike leads client relationships, new business, proposals and commercial agreements, and account management. He works alongside Lax, who leads business consultancy and marketing strategy, so every client has one accountable point of contact from the first conversation onwards.
Marketing results matter. So does how a client is looked after while those results are delivered.
Mike has worked across digital marketing, technology, mobility and logistics, and has built sales strategies, scripts and training for trades and small business markets. He has coached and developed sales teams, built onboarding programs, and run national forecasting and management reporting in Zoho and bespoke CRM systems.
That experience shapes how Sepher runs its accounts: structured onboarding, regular reporting, proactive contact and commercial agreements that are clear from the start.
Business consultant and marketing strategist, with a background in Commerce, Business Administration and International Business. Lax brings together commercial thinking, marketing strategy and creative direction to help businesses build stronger brands and grow with purpose.
Business-minded. Marketing-led. Internationally focused.
Lakshman Raveendhar, known as Lax, is a business consultant and marketing strategist, exclusively partnered with Sepher to deliver its consultancy and strategy services in-house. Sepher is an Australian marketing and business consultancy built around the belief that effective marketing should do more than look good — it should make business sense.
With an academic background spanning Commerce, Business Management and International Business, Lax brings a commercially grounded approach to branding, marketing, advertising and digital growth.
His studies have given him a broad understanding of accounting, management, marketing, strategy, consumer behaviour, international business and the dynamics of operating in a global marketplace. This combination allows him to approach marketing not simply as a creative function, but as a business discipline connected to positioning, growth and commercial outcomes.
Before partnering with Sepher, Lax developed a strong interest in understanding how businesses communicate their value, compete in their markets and turn opportunities into sustainable growth.
At Sepher, he works across strategy, brand development, creative direction, digital marketing and business growth, bringing together commercial thinking and creative execution to help businesses build brands that are clear, distinctive and built to perform.
“A strong brand is not just about how a business looks. It is about how clearly it understands itself, how effectively it communicates its value, and how confidently it competes.”
Marketing sits at the intersection of creativity and business.
Lax’s academic journey reflects that philosophy — beginning with Commerce and Professional Accounting, progressing into Business Administration, and later specialising in International Business at UNSW.
The result is a perspective that looks beyond campaigns and aesthetics to understand the business behind the brand — its market, positioning, customers, competitive environment and growth objectives.
That philosophy is what he brings to Sepher.
